| Just a note to bring this historic event to the forefront of everybody's mind... Students who have confirmed - Thank you very much! Looking forward to it? Students who haven't confirmed - What's keeping you? There is a pile of self-study to be done before the course, email me and I'll let you know what to do next. Victims - Thanks for volunteering, I'm sure that all the Students will join with me in a commitment to at least try not to kill any of you... Tricky, Dominic and DaveA - can you let me know what kit you are bringing please. Nigel - Are you bringing the upside-downers as well has the YBOD/YBOL? Any "victims" that aren't on the list, let me know... PADI AOW divers who don't know what I'm talking about - it's all here... http://divesite.calumscott.me.uk/ukrs/rescue_diver_2004 - anything else you need to know reply here or drop me a line. And to all the people attending in whatever capacity, remember that many of the people attending this course will also be attending the Diveshow and Icebreakers. It is my intention to get these people together socially before the course at either or both of these events... I'll be at the diveshow, probably on the Sunday and Icebreakers both days. Oh and I have a heart condition so I might not be faking it. Rescue is hard work when you move from drills to scenarios but I still think it is the most fun course in the PADI book. And you learn a lot. When you finish you know why you did it. nigelH |

I had thought that might be the case - and with the amount of silt we'll no doubt be kicking up you no-bubblers are gonna be tricky to find! > Oh and I have a heart condition so I might not be faking > it. I did say that we'll offer a commitment to TRY not to kill you... > Rescue is hard work when you move from drills to scenarios > but I still think it is the most fun course in the PADI book. Personally I can't wait - its got to be great for confidence. And on top of that it should be a very sociable affair - after all we are going to be "saving" some real UKRS hardcore... > And you learn a lot. When you finish you know why you did it. > > nigelH Oh aye, I almost forgot. For the students this time round - if you need a moralle boost during the course just remember that you get to be "victims" the next time someone organises one of these! CAS |

Maybe Single 15 or single 10 on a BCD with Dry suit. I might go as far as a 7mm semi if Frank wants to run the Scenario. Though that depends on gut feeling on the day. > > > > And you learn a lot. I'm already a Rescue diver, And for those who havn't made up their minds wheter or not to do it. It's great fun and what you learn may well save someones life later. Wish I could be there to cheer and jeer, But I'd need an air fare first. ;) rhys |

I think that's why I'm looking forward to it so much - with so many of the UKRS hardcore coming along to mentor us newbies it is sure to be a hoot as well as a great learning experience. > Wish I could be there to cheer and jeer, But I'd need an air fare first. > ;) > > rhys Fear not! | Calm down, - we'll be as fair and realistic as possible - remember that whoever wears twin 300bars and 20kg of lead them will have to haul them all back out again, this isn't a UKRS dive and there is no lift, just some nice bouncy ladders - bad diving practises will be photographed and displayed on the web...... just to be fair..... you understand. /F |
