Default Scubapro MK18 / MK20 / MK25 differences

Any one know what the differences are between the MK20 and the MK25 first
stage?

The MK20 appears to be an old model.

I always thought that diaphram was "better" than "piston" - and that the
piston regs were usually cheaper. From a search on google however it appears
that piston usually offers the better performance and that it is the
unbalanced that are usually cheaper. From what I read no scubapro has a
"cold water kit" and that all are suitable for cold water (i.e stoney in
winter!)

Is one (piston or diaphram) preferable to the other?

I don't know the exact differences, I'd suggest looking at scubapro's
website for that but I do have an MK25 on my main regs and a MK20 on my
pony, the DV's are the same - R380's. I get a better breathe out of the
MK25's over the MK20, the air also feels warmer than from the MK20. I'd go
for the MK25.

The MK20 appears to be discontinued and specs arent listed on the SP
website.

The MK25 took the place of the MK20. The two second stages are essentially
the same except the MK25 allows external adjustment of the intermediate
pressure while the MK20 requires use of internal shims.

Have a look at www.scubadiving.com or www.divernet.com for a review.
