This was a "poll" where the blatant misinformation disseminated by you and the fishing lobby, scared the local beach front condo owners, into thinking that shark dives 3 miles from shore, could draw sharks into their beach, where there children or grandchildren would be "eaten". And then, in an awesome display of hypocrisy, CDNN and you, failed to make even a "peep" about the REAL threat at the fishing piers located within swimming areas---a huge shark chumming event which continues unabated to this day--and one you and CDNN remain SILENT about. One of the two manufacturers you chose is probably pretty good. Sorry you chose Suunto unless you were looking for something to use in guage mode. Their unique approach to nitrox and partial pressures of O2 have earned them the scorn of quite a few divers. Lee |

You have no credibility Dan. Everybody in Florida knows that. Case in point. It's a matter of record that CDNN condemned all chumming. You know that yet you continue to lie about CDNN, the same "disparage your opponents" strategy that guaranteed your failure during the shark feeding wars. You and your marine wildlife harassment pals attempted AND FAILED to justify shark feeding by arguing that sport fishers are also assholes. You are so stupid, you still don't understand why that strategy failed. You are a liar Dan. That's why you lost. Get over it bitch. |

There's no doubt in my mind that issues you raised about fish cleaning and fishing from piers immediately adjacent to swimming areas are as you represented them, but that was never the issue being discussed by the state of Florida. As true as your comments were, I see them as an attempt to divert attention from what was actually being addressed. I said it before ane I'll say it again. Your concern may deserve attention and action, but it is not the issue being addressed in the Florida hearings. There were a lot of people, with a lot of money at stake, claiming that feeding sharks did not change their behavior and would not cause them to associate people with food. At best, they were wrong. At worst, they were intentionally lying. Lee |

You pretty much ignore this, for years, and then one day, a handful of dog walkers begin walking by your yard, and a few allow their dogs it piss and shit on your yard---and you scream bloody murder about it, and threaten the police, lawsuits, etc. This to me, was the issue with shore and pier fishing , along our swimming beaches, and shark dives 2 to 3 miles from the beaches. If the state wanted to end the danger, they should deal with the big threat first--the shore and pier fishing at swimming beaches. If that disappears, then it would be valid to raise concerns about the shark feeding miles away from the beach. Fear of imminent attacks to swimmers was the cause of the law--not a few divers who had concerns--even if they were valid. And sure, it would not be right for someone to curb their dog in your yard---but if you have a sewage outfall for a yard, what's the harm ? Regards, Dan V |

That "discredit your opponents" strategy backfired because anybody could understand it simply wasn't true. The fact that Dan is still attempting to foment that anti-CDNN crap speaks volumes about why the feeders lost and why they will fail to reverse the ban no matter how much money PADI/DEMA pumps into the "let's feed sharks to save sharks" bullshit. |

How about actually DOING something, and take up arms against the chumming at fishing piers---shore fishing and pier fishing is a huge threat to nearby swimmers --why don't you and CDNN care about this enough to give it some news coverage--at least comprable to what you did with the dive based shark feeds...If you actually went after the shore and Pier fishing, I'd have to take your side on an issue--and that would be "horrible" for me Dan V |
