Default Pre Diveshow research - BCD?

Doing a bit of research before the dive show.

Want to get a new BCD, something to use over here (basic 30m single tank
diving) and suitable to use overseas (i.e lightweight, not like the Oceanic
Chute that I have been using and weighs a ton)

Obviously the show is the place to have a look around and a rummage (non on
the website list weight in the specs), However I was hoping that a few
people could give suggestions of what to look at.

Some I have looked at are:

Buddy Sport: Listed as travel jacket, includes backplate, simplified bag
design and no mini cylinder (yipee!). How is this as good as a standard
buddy jacket? Does anyone have one?

Cressi: J107? With Flight Control? Looks interesting compared to the similar
Mares bcds? Any experience?

Mares Vector Origin: A basic school jacket?

Oceanic: Used a number of Oceanic BCD, always found them solid if not
slightly expensive?

Suunto: Not know for BCDs Always rated well in reviews?

Anything else I should think about?

Hi Pete,

If you would like an inexpensive bulletproof jacket that does not weigh a
massive amount have a look at the suunto equalite 1000 (they may have
renamed it the 1100).

I have dived this jacket for nearly 3 years now as a working diver, and it
is just starting to flag. It is made in the same factory as the mares and is
virtually a carbon copy of the Mares Vector chrome (I think thats the right
one)

If luck is with you maybe sub £200 at the show! Major bargain compared with
Mares equivalent.

HTH

Mail me off line if you want more info

Regards

Jon

Didnt know that the Sunnto BCD is made in the same factory as mares, I did
know however that Sporasub is, take the mares weight system and is usually a
lot cheaper than the eqivilent in Mares.
