| Ka > Has anyone tried the Glo Toobs? If so what do you think What those wonderful snap and go light sticks? Yes. I used one on AOW Night dive. I was so impressed I gave the ones I had left to a friend's kids to play with. If my torch, my backup torch and my backup backup torch fail and I can't see your torch I'm on my way up so don't bother to come looking for me. They may be of use for a dive guide to find a lost customer in gin-clear waters but in the UK they are a waste of space. Since we routinely dive in the dark in the UK, especially in the plankton season, there are better things to carry. nigelH |

| "> What those wonderful snap and go light sticks? > No, should have made myself clearer. Not the snap type chemilumes the Glo Toobs are a (TM) product that is similar to a strobe in size and can be used in various flashing and non flashing modes for divers. it is NOT a primary light source - simply a means of diver identification and marking. BTW maybe its a lot clearer here but chemilume sticks are great here for night dives and dark day dives..... but I guess that's the 22m vis we have.... Then I'm clearly talking nonsense then although I still think that if it's dark enough to need them the torches should id the divers. > .... but I guess that's the 22m vis we have.... hate you 8-) nigelH |

"Ka news:bp631p$r35$1@dorito.esatclear.ie... > Hi! > > Has anyone tried the Glo Toobs? If so what do you think They can only be used as fairy lights. They are hardy though (mine flooded, dried and worked) and probably indestructable through normal use. The only practical use is for marking out front and rear guides on a night dive. Other than that they aren't much cop and certainly not worth £25. They do come in handy for map reading whilst driving at night, this is as an alternative to using the illumination from a mobile phone, as using a mobile whilst driving will soon be outlawed in this country on 1st december. It is however perfectly ok to have sex whilst driving at night as long as you can prove you are in control of the car, a RED GLOTUBE may help to set the mood in this instance. > available in anyones LDS or can anyone recommend an online source other than > Simply Scuba?
