| hiya folks help needed!!!!! i take alot of pictures in the local swimming pool and i find that the camera is picking up alot of red in the picture.im using the camera with a ys25dx strobe, but it just aint making any difference.ive put all the camera settings to auto and that doesn't seem to help either. ANY help would be appreciated. cheers again |

Perhaps you could take some pictures at short range (so you can get a good photograph without flash too) of a test picture (suitably waterproofed!) or a test object both with and without the strobe. That should help decide whether it's the strobe that is the cause or whether it's some other factor. You can try that above and below water too so you can determine whether it's the environment that's the problem. For instance, some swimming pool buildings have lighting that might give this effect. I'm assuming here that your camera and any software you are using is not trying to do any colour correction for underwater pictures. If it were doing so it would typically be trying to add red into the picture as this is the colour that is lost most quickly as depth increases. In a shallow pool, and especially with a good flash providing a balanced light source this correction wouldn't be necessary and applying it might add too much red. Hope this helps Simon |
