Default PADI Cards

Hi

As a new diver I did my OWD back in November (immaculate timing, eh?) and my
instructor duly sent the paperwork off to PADI. I've since heard nothing.

How long should they take to send a card etc back?

Thanks

3 weeks max for me. over a lot of cards (I'm rescue diver) so I'd have your
instructor ring the PADI office and enquire

I did my Dive Master in 1987 in Jeddah. Gave Mohammed the Riyals, and still
waiting for my card! Contacted PADI and it seems he pocketed the money, and
left the company.... Bugger....

I've found that it depends on where you did your training as that decides which PADI
office issues your card. If you did your training in the UK it gets processed by the
UK office (which usually take 2-4 weeks) otherwise the EMEA office in Switzerland takes
a bit longer (4-6 weeks). I can't guarantee these times but this is what I found when I
got my cards

With PADI Europ it usually take between 4 and 6 weeks. But i think that with
the last holidays it can take 1 or 2 weeks more.

It might be worth checking that the instructor who certified you has
actually sent off the paperwork - it's not unheard of, you know...

On the same topic, anybody know how long TDI take to send out cards?
I took a TDI course in Sharm about 3 weeks ago, was wondering when they'd
send me my card?!

Mine took about a month (but then my credit card expired whilst I was waiting and
they didn't get in touch to get the certification fee). TDI don't send their cards
out directly to divers so I would assume your card will be sent via the dive centre
you trained with in Sharm.

About 2-4 weeks for both of mine.

That's not always true. TDI (UK) sent both of my cards directly to me.

May be this also depends on where you trained & who with?

Cheers
Matt.

The best way to find out is to ask TDI, or PADI. They can, at least, verify
that information has been received and is in process. If the card, or
information, has been lost, as sometimes happens, they can also help
resolve the problem.
