Default Icebreakers - Thanks

Just a little note to say thanks to all the UKRSers at Stoney over the
weekend.

I for one had a great time, 3 nice dives and nothing too expensive went
wrong (apart from my brain on Sunday morning resulting in the purchase of a
backup pair of gloves and hood!).

It was good to put faces to names and real people to the pictures from trip
reports and websites.

The nominations for the shortest bottom time award include Ferret for his 60
second (tops) dive to the bottom of the bus-stop and back with a stuck suit
inflator! Seeing a YBOD diver in a cloud of bubbles is generally worrying!

The compromising position award nominees open with Nigel with snorkel
sticking out of coat pocket - pictures will follow...

Any more for any more?

Thanks again - loved it!

It was fun wasn't it? I've never figured Icebreakers. It's cold,
Stoney is hardly exciting diving, it's a stupidly long way from
home and yet I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Hey I'm going snorkelling next weekend with AJ and since the
one that I bought when I did OW has long since given up the
game I was going to buy one and then Digs gave me one.

They were selling some other kit and perhaps she knew that on a
UKRS trip the chance of selling it was low. Some of the kit would
get better prices at an SAS boot sale. She said she has a talent
for finding lost knives but some of those could not have been hard
to spot.

DannyB and I must win the 'Far too much kit and then some' award.
We started with a couple of rebreathers and spare tanks, gas,
kitty litter and the usual bits and pieces but then I brought the
twinset for DaveA and a couple of 12s for another guy, Danny had
a 15 for a friend and then there was a bit of kit I picked up on
the way. I think the figure of 200Kgs in tanks alone was a bit
high but 2x2L, 7x3L, 2x7L, 2x10L, 3x12L, 1x15L adds up.

Also from me, thanks for the lift Nigel, thanks for the accomodation Maria
:) Had a great weekend, two excellent dives on Saturday and a sticky ear on
Sunday but still great fun.

As a note why has it dissapeared of the UKRS web site?

That was my first one and, even though I have no idea where in the world
I'll be next year, I'm damn sure I'll be there for the next one (Dave, put
me down as a provisional for 2005 when you start the list!!).

That goes without saying!

I currently have very good connections in the Automotive aftermarket
industry should you require any new suspension components! If it wasn't for
the high upkeep of a big Citroen I would suggest one - you can pack them as
full as you like and they don't sag at the back!

It's flipped over to the bottom of the reports but there
are no reports yet. I suspect that it's automated. I
don't really have enough pictures to do much of a report
but we need to have the pictures of Digs in the Prizm.

At least I didn't do 'flat battery' this time but the
bill for the speedometer fix is going to be about 150
quid.

Oh well. Snorkelling at Gosport next weekend.
