DecoWeenie is quite good, but unless you use a old version, it'll cost money... ;-( Vic. -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

Nothing wrong with Buhlmann with GF.... *puzzled look* Sadly it doesn't do CC Buhlman with GF's, which would be kinda useful. > Use JPLAN, its free for a start, which makes it alot cheaper than the > competition, and it does (as of V3) Buhlmann with GF for OC and CC. I've just been given a shiny new Nokia 3650 for Christmas so I've been looking at Greg's DivePlan (www.diveplan.org) for Symbian OS. I'm not convinced I like the interface, I especially don't like the way you can have some segments of the dive in imperial and some in metric, I can't see a use for it, and it could lead to a bad mistake being made at some point. Surely, if I want metric, then I want everything in metric? Added to this in an essentially GUI environment there is too much fiddling around with the keyboard, and since I've installed PuTTY (SSH for Series 60) the onscreen font DivePlan is picking up is 4x6 pixels in size (ie way too small!). I think Tony's JPLAN interface is cleaner, and more in keeping with a GUI environment where you want to keep keyboard fiddling to a minimum. But, unfortunately, JPLAN is PalmOS only so I might be forced to write my own application. Yes, I know I said this about the Palm but Tony came along and saved me the hassle. I'm hoping that someone will do the same here, but if not I need a weekend project and I guess this might be it. On machines with screens as small as a PDA or a phone the interface is 95% of the hassle and the heartache. Oh well... :( Al. |

| Bill. If you look in the jplan programs folder there are a couple of applications there (deco software and gas mixing) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jplan/files/ If there are any other good free programs I can put them in there as well. (my favourite is changename...) But, I installed JPlan yesterday and it's interface is pretty similar (and in concept almost identical) to DPlan from GUI. I haven't seen DecoWeenies latest GUI but I agree that JPlan's is nice & very easy to use (even without a manual!). I've not run any profiles with it yet as I'm waiting for a key code. BTW, am I correct in assuming that the cut schedule from JPlan was correct (i.e. compared to DDPlan) when Al got bent (that's to say it was bad luck not bad programming)? Cheers Matt. |

ISTR he was doing a longer runtime than others on the same dive. Let's see, my logbook says 55m / 25 mins for a total 68 mins on 21/35, 50 and 100. Hmm, where did I get 68 mins from? Jplan says 58 mins on 20-85GF! - Keith |
