Default Chamber Dive 21st Feb

Saturday February 21st.

I have organised a 50M chamber dive for 21st Feb at NDC Chepstow. The cost
is £25 per head, if you wish to do trimix on the dive it is available at
cost of gas. The dive duration is approx 20 minutes.

The dive is done in the early evening so that the chamber is available
during the day if required on site, times to be confirmed. There is a
maximum of 15 people, done in 3 shifts of 5 (+1 tender).

I have 3 people already so there are 12 places left, I will put a web page
up this evening, mail me if you are interested.

There is no diving for 24 hours before the chamber dive as it tends to make
their deco schedules more complex.

Dan,

Any info on the deco run/model they use? and.... will they mind if we wanted
to do a gas switch as a narcotic shock test?

Zak, no idea about deco model, as for gas switches they seem pretty happy
with whatever the customer wants.... They don't normally do trimix, I
asked, they said yes at cost of gas.

Never been to the NDC, but how do they manage to run there chamber? Are the
next to a hospital? IIRC correctly, Stoney have been unable to use their
chamber as the cant get the appropriate registration as they are not a
medical provider (i.e hospital) and not have to airlift to hull or london?

I thought it just needed a medically trained person to operate it, which
Stoney didn't have / couldn't provide... and it looks a bit crap anyway! I
expect they now require newer, better controlled chambers now, rather than
just a tin box connected to the compressor. But can't really remember the
exact reason, but i'm sure it was some specific problem with theirs, not
that they can only be run by medical institutions.

I am the first to admit that I dont know much about this one! Cant find my
"old" copy of Stoney Cove news. Seem to recall that they had built space for
the chamber in the new building (presumably with a new chamber), but as they
cant get registration plans were shelved. - if the new building is ever
finished!!
