| Hi there, Anyone stayed at the Hilton Resort, Sharks Bay, Sharm? Just booked a week there with the family for February half term and the hotel claim to have a dive centre. Who operates it and are they any good? Any other recommendations in the area? I dived with Emperor Divers last year in Hurghada and was well impressed. Unfortunately, they don't pick up from Sharks Bay so I'd have to catch a taxi there and back every day. I had a couple of experiences with taxis in Hurghada and it's not one I'd care to repeat!!! Cheers David |

I get the feeling that this Hilton Sharks Bay hotel is someway out of town but don't really know. That being said it is a very good all inclusive price. My instinct is to go for the Hyatt Regency half board as I will be away most of the day diving. You are taking the family so your situation is a little different from mine. That being said it is a very good all inclusive price. Not sure which offer you mean. This was booked just before Xmas via Longwood Holidays and, as you say, seems a very good price for all inclusive. I realise it's a bit out of town and nearish to the airport, but it still less for 4 star all inclusive than we paid for 3 star B&B in Hurghada. > > My instinct is to go for the Hyatt Regency half board as I will be away most > of the day diving. > > You are taking the family so your situation is a little different from mine. > Yup, the wife & daughter will sun by the pool while I try to get in about 3 days boat diving. Thought about going for the Thistlegorm, but them tell me you have to leave at around 4:00 am..... Might leave that 'til we go for a fortnight. > > --- > Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. > Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). > Version: 6.0.560 / Virus Database: 352 - Release Date: 08/01/04 > > |

So your basically at the other end of Sharm from the jetty. However, I don't think it will take any longer to get to the boat via minibus than say the Ras Um Sid headland. Nightlife should be reasonably OK. Just make sure you don't pay over 20LE to get a taxi into Naama bay for the night. If you do venture into Naama, then try the TamTam for Egyptian food, or the Camel Club for beer (just watch out for the peanuts!) Have fun Scubatricky |
