Default Sharm El Sheikh

Just got back (via the wilds of western Scotland) from a diving
holiday in Sharm El Sheikh .

The Red Sea was, as usual, stunning underwater.

Encounters with huge Napoleon Wrasse, Hawksbill Turtles, Blue Spotted
and Torpedo Rays, Crocodile fish, Scorpion fish, sizeable shoals of
Barracuda, Jacks and Blue Fin Trevallys, and countless other fauna,
were more than enough to make up for the frequent closure of several
dive sites to accommodate the exclusion zones around Tony Blair and
the Egyptian president.

The last day's diving was marred somewhat when it transpired that the
circling Hercules, helicopters and assorted naval vessels, were not
preparing to invade Israel, but were searching for the Flash Airlines
flight that had 'disappeared off the radar' at six o'clock that
morning.

Egypt's reluctance to release details about their
less-than-well-regarded airline's loss meant a number of anxious phone
calls and text messages from friends and relatives of our party during
the morning.

This cast a particularly profound gloom over the boat, as we'd said
good-bye to four French divers the morning before, and knew that they
were due to fly that morning. It was not until the Sunday, as we were
preparing to leave, that we found out to our relief that they had not
checked out of their hotel until well after the accident.

It's strange how much more deeply one feels about an incident that, to
be honest. normally would have merited only a passing thought, when
one has even the most tenuous link to someone who may have been
involved.

I was most relieved, on arriving home, to discover that I'd not lost
my dive computer after all - I'd merely neglected to pack it.

The Lord alerted my mind to the presence of this EVIL article by Charles
King, and I thusly replied:
