Diver magazine has a recent test online, so you can start by looking
there..

And I with you

I wouldn't state that as a rule; laminated tables are perfectly suitable
for a main plan *if* they represent your expected profile to an
appropriate degree.

That's going to depends on the sort of profiles you choose - but it's
not something I'm going to argue about particularly strongly...

But nonetheless, it doesn't detract from my statement that it's entirely
reasonable to propose laminated tables as the successor to a dead puter
- even if that's not ideal for everyone.

Fair enough - he perceived it as a flame, but that's his problem. It
wasn't a flame. His response most certainly was. I would recommend a
retraction and apology...

You think you had problems - I had to get a Win2K installation working.
Ick!

As far as I understand, it is a modified version. Bruce Wienke
(sorry, got the spelling wrong before) does have direct input into the
RGBM that Suunto uses, as he mentions it in the foreword to his book
'Technical Diving in Depth'. As for deep stops, I don't do deco
diving so I couldn't comment either way

I believe the Explorer is available with a hybrid RGBM / Buhlman
version with depth variable Bfac.

All dives are deco dives - some you have to plan to make stops - all deco
dives must be planned. Sunnto implement their own unique version of RGBM
originated from Wienke. GAP and the Abyss/HE Oxycheq/HS explorer implement
their own version(s) and sub versions of RGBM and other modifications to
deco prediction strategies.

A 30M dive should generate a stop in the 21-18m range, if deep stops are
implemented in addition to RGBM or what ever maths model you're using to
_predict_ your likely requirement for deco, or as Zak mentioned you can use
your deco dice.

Deep and Safety stops are good, recorded data shows us that ascent rates are
a key to a good/bad deco.

Where is the greatest pressure change (thats in the PADI OW manual) - So
where should the slowest ascent rate be? Why would this be technical diving?

Hi Jim,

I have an Aeris Atmos 2, that I like very much. As a dive computer
it's fairly useable -- not too conservative or too liberal. Used
sensibly, it works well enough in that capacity, and it also does
gauge mode and makes a very good bottom timer for cave and tech
diving. Aeris is a sister company to Oceanic, and there is a dive
computer in the Oceanic range that is more or less equivalent to the
Atmos 2 called the Versa Pro. I'd give either one of these a good
look. <http://www.diveaeris.com> <http://www.oceanicworldwide.com>

Best,
