I would have thought if there is some sort of failure to that feed.

Then I would just use my drysuit. Or orally inflate the wing.

Fair enough. I'd just find it easier to switch hoses.

I have already posted this above but I had to do it once with my old
Halcyon wing and it was uncomfortable but it worked.

Each to their own, as they say! Personally I like having the choice of
*either* - I can either switch hoses or orally inflate the wing. Choice is
good.

In a moment of stress, the last thing you want to do is start swapping
kit about. If the wing fails, use the suit, if the suit fails, use the
wing.

But then I use the counterlungs as well.

Huh? Easier to switch hoses than orally inflate a wing?

This is a joke, right?

Vic.

I guess it depends on your point of view. I dislike the idea of having to
use a technique which I have relatively little practice with. I do not
normally dive without a power inflate so I would like to avoid escaping
without one. Personally if I have had one problem I want the escape to go
as smooth as possible. Cross patching can be no big deal if your prepared
to remove your gloves, takes a minute or two. The ascent takes a lot longer
and there is far more scope to get oral inflation wrong. YMMV

you wouldn't even have to remove your gloves and it wouldn't even take a
minute. You would then have full buoyancy control for the ascent and
wouldn't have to remove your reg to inflatee your wing on the surface. I'd
feel happier but then of course there's always someone who knows better.

If you run the wing inflator from the right post and the suit
inflator from the left post, it reaches quite comfortably.
Like you, I'm not quite sure how useful this is.
