I can recommend Dive In, Lakeside Centre, Kings Norton, Birmingham - 0121 459 4549. They do their inland diving at Dosthill (which belongs to them), and run regular trips to places like Weymouth, the Red Sea, and so on. They're a PADI centre, so not club-like in the BSAC way, but the atmos there was generally very convivial, and the manager,. Vini, used to run 'club nights' with talks by the likes of the Police Search and Rescue divers etc. I should point out that I've not been there for about 4 years, having left the country. If you contact them, tell Vini that Charlie says 'Hi' :) -- Charlie |

It is a real s**t hole. Where abouts in the Midlands are you looking for a club? | In article <buea50$f13$1@hercules.btinternet.com>, MB <morayb@btinternet.com> writes >Can anyone recommend I good club based in the W Mids? > > I can recommend Lutterworth SAC. We're just off junction 20 of the M1. Been a member for 8 years now (joined from another club). We dive all around the UK, both RIB & hardboat diving, 70+ members, 1 RIB and have just voted to buy another to replace our trusty inflatable. Lots of trips planned this year, and we run a fair few in house SDC's. For more info see www.lsac.co.uk Regards -- Jon Brewis |

What about practicing sensory deprivation diving? At this time of year you loose both vision and touch in the 4deg pool. Rob H |

That place is the reason my wife didn't continue diving, which in turn stops me diving places like Truk and Bikini without serious grovelling.
