That's the ticket! or, have a word with the other David <looks> Mahong, he's
a surgeon, sure he could help you out, though where he'd get the extra flesh
is a worrying thought :)

Go and check BSAC Ocean Dive and Dry Suit courses! Its in both.

You train people to deal with stuck inflators

The way we always did that was just make sure they raise their dump and you
can stay neutrally bouyant, tried this in the pool and Stoney many times.
We've also done disconnecting the hose, but never bothered with reconnecting
it - if you're going up then you don't need to be able to add air to the
drysuit, just get it out. The only benefit of reconnecting is for comfort
on the surface, hardly something to get new trainees to strugle with when it
makes no difference to the safety of the dive.

But yeah, I do see why you do teach it, although i'm still not convinced
that reconnecting it is an essential skill.

I would tend to agree, in fact often when teaching I will reconnect
for the trainee so they can try again as its easier for someone else
to do. I was mainly pointing out that disconnecting *is* part of some
very basic BSAC courses
