Default Out of test tanks

On the way up to Icebreakes I dragged Danny off to help
me pick up some vintage equipment I bought on Ebay.

I've now got round to looking at the cylinder and although
it has gas in it the cylinder body itself is totally innocent of
stamps.

There is a little brass collar below the valve with the
Water Capacity (22 lbs), tare wt, working pressure etc.
on it but nothing that looks remotly like a date unless
the 6 78 hand stamped on it is it.

Does 'little brass collar' ring a bell with anybody and if
so is 1978 in that region?

Sounds about right for that era. It's probably rated to 207 bar or even
less.

Cliff.

More likely to be in PSI at that timeline.... it'll be stamped on the
collar.

Nigel, if Greg still hangs around NSC, he'll explain them to you.

I tend to keep some of my more exotic toys away from NSC.
Greg's OK and so is Margarett but her instructors/DMs are taught
to throw garlic and religious symbols at anything not in the PADI
lexicon.

Have you seen the gentleman recently? Since his heart stents
were fitted he's stuck to the diet and lost a lot of weight.

Almost certainly in PSI. For many years, I had a Spartan 75 which I bought
in 1971 and was still going strong in 1996 when it was stolen along with the
rest of my gear and my son's gear from a campsite in Beadnell. This tank was
rated at 2500PSI approx 170 bar and had survived quite a lot of blasts up
to 232 bar by compressor operators who failed to look at the pressure rating
which I had painted in large letters/numbers on the tank!

I have a 1978 Faber 15 ltr (207 bar) which passed a hydro last August
and is still in regular use. Any offers? It floats at 70 bar!
