The dark side

Just got back from a week on the MV Orchid on the stormy waters of the Red
Sea (aka the North Sea - Sharm region). Bumped (bit hard not to in those
waves) into Huw Porter and a few pals.
A book about DIR and its principles mysteriously manifeted itself before my
eyes.
This book was studiously read and debated by myself, Mrs. Splosh and others.

Needless to say the Backplate has now been ordered.
Fins are under going a major refurbishment (possible respray from Yellow to
Black)
The reel's being washed in a boil wash to shrink it.
The DIN conversion has been requested and will be completed upon service in
March.

The force is strong within me, all attempts to resist are futile.

The dark side is drawing closer............

I weighed it up, and figured that I would rather spend 4k diving in the
next few years. Breathers will always be there, and there is still a lot
of diving for me to do on open circuit. When time rather than money is
the dominant constraint or trimix bills become prohibitive, I'll rethink.

Doesn't stop me wanting one though.
