The instructors and training cannot be faulted. Try dives are on a one - one basis , usually on a monday night at the pool. All agencies ( nearly ! ) are catered for - SSI PADI BSAC. There is also an active social side . As I said I have been a member for ages which must say something about the club, but could be considered biased. For more info ring / contact Arthur either on :- 0161 - 223 - 5106 or http://www.aquatechdivingcentre.co.uk/ Tell Arthur ,Grandad sent you . -- Denis C Todd, aquatodd@btinternet.com |

Have you looked @ http://www.divesubculture.co.uk - they use the Commonwealth Aquatic centre and use the variable depth diving pool (which is set @ 2m for training dives 1-4 and 6m for the last dives before you go in open water). Slightly biased 'cause Mrs Splosh works there but I've buddied with many of the newly qualified divers and have been impressed by their skills in the water - a bench mark of a good school is wether they pass divers because they have paid or because of their ability, and the quality of the diver after training. Would advise that you shop around and ask a few questions ie Instructor to student ratio, state of equipment, are you following HSE regulations (Is every Instructor\Divemaster\Surface cover individually Medically certified & insured?), what pool do you use (there is a Manchester School who train in a pool in Liverpool to cut school costs), how often\when is the next course (most won't start a course with less than 4 students because of costs). Basically dont just jump in feet first (no pun intended). If something doesn't feel right it probably isn't. Also look at www.manchesteractivedivers.com they have an active diving club (no I'm not a member) aligned with a quality training school. If you contact either just quote my name, Alex (aka Cats husband). Alex |
