Default What's Taba like??

Hi

Went to Sharm last September for the first time and had a great time -
diving was excellent.

Thinking of going to Taba in March, but was wondering if anyone had been.

Just me and my other half going, but he doesnt dive and I'm 3 months
pregnant - so wont be diving either. We wanted something quiet with good
weather, just so we could relax. I know Taba will be quieter than Sharm,
but wanted to know just how quiet??

Anyone?

Thanks

Audrey

Very..... VERY quiet. You are virtually in the Sinai desert and outside the
hotels there is NOTHING.
I've just come back from Taba after a week at the Hyatt Regency. Hotel is
superb, food good and service that puts many UK hotels to shame. There are
four pools, one Olympic sized, one 'free form', one sea water and a large
splash pool. Free air con, sat TV and a mini bar if you want it. No tea
coffee in room but I took a travel kettle and tea/sugar/uht milk etc so no
problem.
Good gym, sauna, everything you could want in fact but all in-house. We
spent virtually nothing 'cos there's nowt to spend it on!
Diving is not as spectacular as Sharm but still very good.
Would like to warn people with children not to let them paddle in the sea, I
found at least four Lion fish in only 8" of water about 3 meters from the
shore, also had an octopus settle on my foot but that was brilliant.
Well worth going and I'd go again.
