Default Diving in the Medes Islands

Hi

Off to the Costa Brava for a family holiday in May/June - staying in
L'Escala near(ish) the Medes Islands - as a recently qualified OWD I'm
thinking of either doing AOWD or just a few accompanied dives whilst there -
any recommendations as to dive schools, and is AOWD the way to go? I'm
really seeing it as a way of getting a bit more experience whilst doing a
few 'different' dives. Certainly not 'advanced'!!

thanks

The Medas Island are great. Fish life is excellent as the islands are a
nature reserve (no fishing).

There are wrecks in the area, walls, reefs and caverns.

I have never taken courses there but last dived with
http://www.unisub.es/doc/indexeng.htm can't remember any complaints. When
you book your diving which will be hard boat, check where you are going on a
given day as there are a limited number of island permits given to operators
per day so sometimes they go up the coast and not to the islands.

Unisub are at L'Estartit but has a Marina that is closest to the islands.

Our club has taken everyone from shiny new divers to BSAC Advanced and just
about everyone comes away happy with the range of diving.

Medes Islands are the best scenic Med diving I have ever done. I am going
there again over Easter with my wife and then aMay gain over half term with
my wife, and grandchildren. I dived with Calypso divers.

Hope to go there via Ryanair from Bournmouth.

Estartit is a very child friendly town.
