Default Scubapro R380 right to left hand hose attachment

I want to convert my Scubapro R380 regulator from right to left hand
hose attachment. Anyone done this? If so what's involved?

TIA
Simon

You take everything out of the case and put it all in the other way around.
It's not all that hard, but it is a complete diassembly and reassembly.

So do I need a special tool as mentioned in the previous post?

Not being funny, if you dont know the answer to this and cant figure it out,
you shouldnt be doing it yourself. Give it to a shop to do, at least you'll
know that its going to keep you alive.

I ask for advice and get two, somewhat conflicting, views so I ask for
clarification. Is that not a sensible approach? I'm not in the habit of
taking things apart if I find I can't proceed to completion or might not
even be able to return them to the original state.

It's in the interests of people who service diving equipment to make it
difficult, or seem difficult, for divers to make changes themselves.
Sometimes this can be justifiable on safety grounds. I don't have the
equipment to fully service regulators so I don't do it. I do however do
simple things like moving hoses around the ports. Inbetween there are
things like changing R380 regulator hoses from the right to the left
hand side. Maybe this is easy, maybe it isn't.

If I send you the schematic would you be able to tell me whether I can
make this change without special tools?

Simon

Simon, its self evident how to do it mate. What I was suggesting is that if
you cant see straight away from looking at the reg how to do it, you're
probably best off getting it done at a dive centre.

The "special tool" only applies to an external fitting, that you can
see...... and should easily be able to figure out.

Sorry, I don't know. The only reason I happen to know it's a complete
disassembly is because mine came back the wrong way and I stood there and
watched the tech put it right. I probably should have been a bit more
observant, but I didn't notice whether there were specialized tools
involved.
