There seems to be dive planning stuff out there, though I don't have
any, but is there a plain simple dive log? Suitable for jotting the
key facts and impressions down before getting home and downloading
your computer?

Aqua DiveLog looks pretty good and is free but I haven't started using it in
ernest coz I'm still trying to figure out how to get 200 previous dives
imported from my old Psion Revo. Next dive trip is end of March (hopefully)
so I hope I get it figured by then.

I also like the look of Ruiz but that crashes/locks up on my T3. Sharkpoint
also looks good but in the trial download I could not find a way to input
dates in UK dd/mm/yy format. I may have overlooked a setting somewhere but I
couldn't find it. If the developers can't be bothered to make that simple
provision I can't be bothered to use it!

Check out this software package @ www.tracitdivelog.co.

The Trac'it Dive Log is a computer dive log tracking system designed
for the beginner diver up to technical divers using three specially
mixed gases during one dive. This program allows for tracking every
phase of your diving experience, by including your entire family in
one program. Each individual diver has a complete dive log that stores
all the data from each dive; in each individuals dive log. The initial
start up requires loading the diver information in the divers table
for one individual minimum. Loading all the information requested and
printing a copy for each diver to include in his or her dive bag would
be helpful in case of an emergency. All the divers share the
information stored in, Buddy, Country, Current, Cylinders, Dive Shop,
EAN Mix's, Equipment, Dive Shop, Surface Conditions, Tide, Type Dive,
and Dive Sites. If you edit a field it will change every ones entry
using that shared information, forward and backwards. Therefore we
recommended you add new information rather than edit existing data.

You better try this one:

'SharkPoint, scuba logbook' (http://www.dreamdives.org)

It runs on Palm, PocketPC and Windows and supports Suunto, Mares, Sensus
and Uwatec dive computers.

Frank S.
