| Hi divers, I am looking for hp-valves to build my own filling panel. Can get them here in holland, but feel they are slightly overprised.. (deuh. everything is) Does anyone know of a reliable scuba store that has an online facility where I can see and buy these kinda materials? I am looking for the valves that instead of a knob, have a lever I can pull to fill the tanks, and push back to release the pressure. well all, hope I made myself clear at least and that someone can point me in the right direction. Thx in advance, Michel |

No, I don't off-hand but I do have some advice for you. Make sure that the valves you get are for GAS and not meant for fluids. Reason being : someone was kind enough to donate a filling panel to our club which used these hydraulic valves. The fluid that is supposed to pass through them also lubricates them, so the net result is that with only dry gas traveling trough them they pack up every so often and has to be rebuilt often. rgds monty |

| I'm not a diver......But. I'm a design engineer and deal with pnematics on a daily basis. What you are talking about, I think, are called ball valves. These are simple on/off things - just turn the handle 90 degrees from one to the other Another reply, quite rightly, mentioned that valves are different for fluids and gases. Its down to lubrication and the type/material of seals and seats inside them - I won't bore you with the details!!! You'll need to know what pressure you are using (that's a matter of course, I presume?) And you'll need to know what size of thread you want on them - BSP at a guess. So you could do a Google search on "pneumatic" and "ball valve" which should get you going. Have a look at : www.norgren.com for a start - amd No! I don't work for them! There are a few other companies around that make/supply that sort of stuff : Festo, Econosto (I think), DeeVee, Schraeder et.al. You could try searching for those. As an aside : Its probably worth searching out the local supplier tell them what you want to use the valves for and asking for a price on it - it might work out cheaper. AND : Its probably where your local dive shop buys them from anyway!!! (Cut out the middle-man!) | Hi hwing, they'll cost 130 euro a piece and can be bought with Schiphorst Compressor Service Techniek http://www.cst-schiphorst.nl their site is lousy, their service is great. Forget mailing them. Just call the 06 number on the site. Regards, MIchel PS: I have eventually just bought these valves here.
