Default Cold Hands?

Anyone got any tips recommendations for warmer hands?

Currently use Scubapro 5mm gloves, 55 mins in 8 deg C today, hands numb!

I had the same problem a few weeks ago (couldn't hold down the purge
properly for deploying DSMB), ended up getting drygloves - and I love them!
I wouldn't go back now, even though they're not perfect. Its just so so
nicer when you go in, you can actually move your hands without them
freezing! With wet gloves i'd try to minimise hand movements, even on the
surface, just because it was so cold as water moved past them. With dry
gloves, you can do what you like with them!
And mine aren't perfect at the minute. I saw people struggling with the
ones with their own latex seal, and frankly I coulnd't be bothered with that
effort so I got ones with the rings. Now, the rings are very easy to use, I
can put them on and off myself within a few seconds while everyone else is
struggling with their wetgloves. However, my suit has very long conical
seals, which are designed with long arms, and the seals fold back under and
back again, giving a very good seal when used normally. However, when
putting the rings on that meant that they were too far down, half covering
my hands when they should be up my wrists. The result is that I can't
currently use my hands properly without the gloves on,because the rings dig
into my fingers and thumb as I use them. I'm getting my suit modified this
week though, shortening the arms by a couple of inches whcih'll make them
the right length, and still work perfectly with normal seals if I ever take
the rings off again.
The gloves I got are from Stoney, for £45.

Very good, highly recommended, but take into account that if you have long
arms on your suit you may have problems without modifying your suit.

David

How well do the gloves fit? If less than perfect you will get flushing
which will make your hands cold. In my decent 3mm gloves I never get
cold hands in my other gloves this time of year it takes minutes

I use 3mm gloves and have scrounged a pair of 5mm 3 finger mitts

3mm glove 6 degrees cold hands after 15 minds
mitts cool hands after 30mins

I've got a set of Posiedon 6mm 3 fingered mitts which seemed to be a lot
better than my 5mm gloves. And I had enough dexterity to operate a camera
in them. Does feel a bit weird putting them on though.

5mm gloves are enough of a hindrance to dexterity let alone 7mm!

Take a small flask of warm {not hot} water with you.
Just before entering the water pour some into each glove.
As soon as you have finished your dive repeat the process.

Wuss! I was using ScubaPro 3mm super-stretch gloves in 6 deg water and only
lost feeling in the tip of one of my fingers after 60 minutes!
