| Here's a brief write up and some photos from our afternoon out at the NDC Chepstow for the UKRS pot dive that took place on Saturday. http://www.bubbling-under.com/diving...UKRSfeb04.html Thanks for organising Danny, an interesting experience! It's almost raw Buhlmann with no conservatism added at all. 10m/min descent rate. No deep stops. (1st Pyle stop would have been at 27m, 1st GF stop with my settings would have been at 21m) 5m to surface in no time at all? Wow. Even I wouldn't do that profile on my Inspriation. Hands up who had prickly skin afterwards? Gordon |

I was outside the pot, as I had been working there during the day (or as Chris put it, "getting free air fills")I can confirm that they were held at 6 mtres for 3 minutes, and then a further 3 minutes at 3 metres. Prior to "surfacing" the operter asked everyone to confirm that their computers were clear of any decompression obligations. Steve -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

As I said in the report, due to the computer being dry, when we got to 3m, it thought it had surfaced even though they held us 3m for 3mins. OK. I didn't see that the first time I read it. Even so, it seems to go against everything we've been doing for the past few years. A few deeper stops in the ascent wouldn't have done any harm at all... BTW: I remember a warning never to have my Aladin Nitrox out of water if it were in a chamber... Never quite worked out why though - maybe it thought it was dry therefor on the surface? Gordon |

If the seal was slightly porous, the case of your computer would slowly equilibrate with the chamber, and could then suffer a 'reverse squeeze' at the end of the dive, possibly damaging seals, casing or pressure sensor. This was the reason given to me when I was advised to remove my dive watch before going into a chamber - they had broken several in the past. |

| Oh I see... I didn't read the page until after the first post... they did offer a bucket of water but you just held on to yours. Ok, I've slightly reworded that bit...they didn't offer us a bucket of water. This was due to us moving from the anti-chamber into the main section once we had been blown down.
