| Last year I found a company that marketed a twinset for military use. This had a plunger style tactile pressure gauge for use in nil vis by feel. Unfortunately I have lost the link and cannot remember the company! Anyone know who they may be, or have a link to anything with a similar tactile pressure gauge please? TIA, Mark. |

| There is a small 22 mm diameter monel pressure indicator used on the latest mil spec UBA sets. The unit has a small 5 mm pin that sticks out from a recess that you can feel when the set is full, the pin retracts at 1/3 rd full. A similar system is used on the HEED emergency escape device except the indicator is set to show full cylinders of up to 80% of full pressure. Both fit to a first stage HP port. The data sheet shows a 250MSW depth rating and in the event of a seal failure the indicator will seal and not leak. An interesting safety feature due to the small oxygen cylinders carried on the swimmer delivery SDV. Not yet available, I didn't think this was public domain yet. The data sheet testing info shows that it passed 143,700 pressure cycles with no leaks, then a further 252,600 cycles. After 665,500 cycles were reached some intermittent leaks were noticed due to slight signs of wear!!
