The charges were shaped strips of explosive arranges with a copper casing which would have formed a plasma as the charges were set off and cut out neat square sections of the hull, which should have fallen away inside. The resulting holes were designed as addidional diver entry points. I would imagine the edges of these holes will be sharp, but not ragged. Can't remember how many charges they placed along each side, but quite a lot, 6 or 8 I think. David |

| The fireballs were petrol lifts for effect, I suspect the previous poster was correct in the copper plasma explosive. It's a product called "Blade" and it does exactly what is says on the tin. Well we cannot all be perfect can we! You can't be blamed for being young and inexperienced. Anyway you aren't so perfect because you obviously do not know the difference between a bulkhead, deckhead and gangway under the affluence on inkahol. Off to the Medes Islands on Monday. Sees ya! This, I am reliably informed, is a reef. nigelH |
