After the disasterous ocean temperature rise of 1998 caused by "El Ninjo", - much of the colors have now been braught back to the coral reefs by nature itself. The variety and number of fish even gained from the temporar coral death, cause the food stuggle between the fish vansished cause the corals didnt compete with the fish over food for a while. So don't bother to listen especially careful to those who won't recommend the Maldives again after that incident. I have been to the Maldives several times,- spent a long time north in the North Ari Atoll last time,- on a resort called Kuramathi Blue Lagoon on the Western point of the Kuramathi island. Click in at: http://www.kuramathi.com.mv/bluelagoon/. The guy's at the dive center are toppers! The local sites are variated and tremendous. And remember to do the whole day trip to Halaveli reef and the local "Sting Ray City", located near a nice shipwreck! Had my best 4 of over 2000 dives there! I can also recommend to seach www.google.com for "Kuramathi Blue Lagoon" and you will find many more hits! -- Best regards, Divepartner Diving School Dag Deberitz d-deberDELETE@online.no Stavern - Norway Dive-o-phone": +47 922 35777 Visit my albums containing diving, travelling cats & others: http://community.webshots.com/user/busdiver_/ \!/ (@ @) ----oOO-(_)-OOo------------OOOO0000oooo...._([;]@-[=< All evt. enclosures and the mailbody itself are scanned with the latest update of Trend Micro(Tm) PC-cillin(Tm) Internet Security11 found at (www.antivirus.com) |

Maldives now booked, coincidentally Kuramanthi. Thanks for the link. Now, thinking on to the next trip - has anyone been to Taba in the Red Sea (seems so much cheaper than Sharm)........ -- David Mahon |
