| Dear all, Having just had to visit my Doctors I found out he's a Sports diver. When I mentioned I wanted to go onto the Adv Nitrox / Deco / Extended Range courses I was informed that under no conditions could I medically qualify for the courses as it was obvious to him that I could not meet the criteria. In his words. "You'll never be a technical diver. You've got too much hair and the permenant 'pi**ed off scowel hasen't developed properly [1]". Can someone point me at the medical requirements for the courses and the guidelines in this matter please. Thanks in advance. Concerned of Manchester Nice to run into a Doc with a sense of humor. We had quite a good chat after. DaveA [1] I'm not sure he's wrong about the general look (Well Jason with the hair is an obvious exception but the 'look's' there -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

I did actually volunteer to be victim for Steve when he got his Inst ticket and some with "Frank Bruce". I will admit I'm doing my DM in Malta on the basis I don't really see why I should make it hard for myself. Well it's not much of an excuse really. I did get in the water at Icebreakers and I've done 6 more puddle dives since then. TTFN DaveA -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

It was flat calm this weekend in Lyme Bay, glassy at times. Probably downhill from now on, though the viz wasn't that great at around 3m and the water's already starting to get snotty. Of course it'll blow a gale this weekend. Jason -- See http://www.scuba-addict.co.uk/ to view UK dive spaces or add your own. |

Pretty amazing weekend in Glen Uig, on the Arisaig promontory... could see the boat and distinguish the prob blades from 15m - I've never seen vis like it in Scotland before. Brought back to earth when we dropped in on the Breda on the way home and it was more like 4-6m, possibly because of all the traffic over a bank holiday weekend. Viz on the St.Dunstan (Sunday), was at least 7-9m and 5-7m on the Pomaranian Monday. Water was almost rough enough for a Wreck Detectives Programme!!!! TerryH |

Had about 6m on the Bagitano, but it was quite a bit worse on the Ailsa Craig. There was plankton in the water. Jason -- See http://www.scuba-addict.co.uk/ to view UK dive spaces or add your own. |
