Depends who you get it off - on a trip last year the holiday rep charged
people £12 but some bought them at the immigration desk and were charged
£15

Got mine from Egyptian embassy in London @ £15 single or £18 multiple entry.
IMO easier to get before you go, less hastle.

So standing in line for 5 minutes is hard work?

I prefer that to travelling to London at a certain time of day and
waiting around needlessly for about 4 hours.

Also, a word of advice. If you do intend to get your visa before you
go, be VERY careful which telephone number you call. I used the fax
back service a few years back and it cost a packet (about £35!).

I have tried to check if the same process is in place but for some
reason, I cannot get the the Egyptian Embassy web site at the moment.

Last time I went in Sharm, a couple of years ago, cost of visa was 10
Euros and the tranfert service to naama included also that task done by
an egyptian boy in 30 sec.

Luxury after the hassles I've just had going to a very nice country (Costa
Rica) *via* Miami )-: (From Amsterdam, after a flight from London at 6am)

Even though I was in-transit, we all had to go through full imigration,
filling out the green form, taking our shoes off, all hand-luggage off
the plane (even though we were getting back on the same one) X-Rayed,
external body searched and luggage opened and examined.

Both ways.

And you know whats funny? The airline gave us all steel cutlery with the
meals.

So do I now want to go to, or throgh the US in the future? Not really.

Egyptian immigration/passport control was a pice of cake by comparison,
last time I went through. Even the 16 year old army lad with a loaded
machine-gun was able to share a joke with me.
