Even Damp sand can explode molten Led all over the place.

Fine sand must be Dried preferably in a pan over a fire

Then mix in a small amount of engine oil just enough so it holds
its shape
this will still spit and crackle a bit when the lead is poured in
and a wonderfull smell of cooked engine but is far safer than
Water in your casting sand
