| My tank has run out of test over winter. Does anyone have a list of test stations when I can get the tank recertified? How much should I expect to pay for a visual (last test was a hydro under old regs) thanks |

As for cost, about £13 per cylinder, plus O2 clean if you are using nitrox. Steve -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

I've lost the last piece of paper I scribbled prices on, but ISTR that a visual is in the £15 range. If you need it O2 cleaned, the price seems to vary widely, though I have recently found someone in North London quoting £7.50, which seems very cheap compared to the rest. HTH David |

Was hoping that these was a website with a list. This might have been dive shop bullshit though, and as the cost was "only" £3 more, I didn't quibble at the time. What you pay depends on where you live. I think I paid about £25 a tank last time for testing and cleaning... And with 8 tanks at my disposal, this becomes a major expense )-: Good luck! Gordon |

| Ouch. I just paid £20 for a visual at Portland Oceaneering. However, the tank's about 2 years out of test and they reckoned that, because it looked to be in good condition, it didn't need a hydrostatic test. Is this right? Sounds a bit dodgy - if they could tell whether tanks were fine or not just by doing a visual, then hydro's wouldn't be a compulsory part of the testing. If its 4-5 years since its last hydro it should be hydro'd again (depending on who's interpretation on the rules you read) David |
