Default Connecting Aladin to Pocket PC

Hi Folks,

Tracked down a serial cable for my Pocket PC (Viewsonic V37), and got hold
of a data transfer cable for my Aladin Air X Nitrox, and have confirmed they
both work correctly when connected to my desktop PC.

To connect the two cables, i'm using a null-modem cable (well, actually, i'm
now at the stage of swapping pins around in an attempt to find out if the
pocket pc terminates in a non-standard wiring set or something).

I'm trying to get the Pocket PC to download from the PDA using either
pdivelog, diveproxy or traveltrak, none of which i've been sucessful with so
far, either the PDA software (dive proxy, traveltrak) sits polling looking
for the dive computer, or it doesn't see it and therefore can't go into
download mode (pdivelog).

In my "playing" i've managed to get the dive computer to constantly beep
whilst cycling through displaying the logs on its screen (i.e. as if i kept
the bottom right and top left buttons shorted with my fingers, which i'm
guess is what that wiring is effectively doing).

Anyone tried this with the same, or similar, PDAs and hand any sucess? I'd
be intrigued to know if you needed to do anything special or different to
get it up and running?

Many thanks,

Gavin Carey.

Default Re: Connecting Aladin to Pocket PC

Hi Gavin,

On ebay.de (Germany) there is a guy who sells both pc and pda cables
for dive computers. It comes with a demo/test program.
