Default Great customer service - SEAC SUB

had to put this post up - I have a Seac Sub Pro 2000 BC which has had
a fault for a while. I decided to finally get it fixed and send it
back to the manufacturer. I didnt have the receipt and since it was a
pressie from the missus while we were away on hols it wasnt practical
to send it back to the dive shop we bought it from.

So, a call into the UK distributors, Alpha Distribution put me in
touch with the customer service folks - I have to say that ALL of the
people i spoke to were excellent. after a painless chat, it was
decided that i should send the BC back to them and they would loan me
another Pro 2000 while mine was away being fixed or replaced.

Now to the incredible bit - I was advised by them to use TNT to send
my BC to them as they'd had problems with Parcel Farce - I took their
advice and sent it off yesterday for 12 noon delivery today. I phoned
at 14.00 and the BC hadnt arrived. A call to TNT revealed that they
had lost it already !!!! but they would search for the next 3 days and
if it didnt turn up i could claim £90 even though it was insured and
noted at well over £300. So... not good thus far. I phoned Alpha again
and spoke to John and after my tale of woe he said he would send me
the loan BC anyway tomorrow to a local shop near me where i could pick
it up and still dive this weekend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when i said about the possibility of TNT having lost mine he wasnt
phased and said "we'll sort something out..."

So - all i can say is I would DEFINITELY buy Seac Sub again and as for
the customer service - its totally AMAZING - The guys in Alpha
have really gone the extra mile for me.

As for transport companies - they are just the worst - Parcel Farce
managed to take 13 days once to get a package from Heathrow to Acton
depot when it took only 4 to get from Los Angeles to Heathrow via USPS
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and as for TNT - just lets not go there... hopefully
they will locate my package going to Alpha but I wont go into static
aponea about it

Once again, Cath, John and James at Alpha - amazing and keep up the
good work !

Iain

[Tale of semi-woe snipped]

It's not diving-related really, but since the OP was talking about parcel
companies, I thought I'd chip in...

I once sent my Handspring Visor back for repair (to Holland). Parcelfarce
did exactly what they said they'd do - they got my parcel to Holland
literally
within hours. Trouble was, it then entered the Dutch postal system...

To cut a long story short, it took two weeks to get the thing back, where it
should've taken three days!

Moral: You'll find cr@p distribution wherever you are in the world.

John
