Default Mares BCD repairs

Hi there,

I've got an Mares Vector 1000 BCD which has a problem with it's inflator-
just the metal bit that plugs into a low pressure hose.
It screws out so I assume you can buy new one. Does anybody know where I can
get a replacement part?

Failing that, does anyone know where I could buy a replacement inflator
unit? Places seem to want to service the whole jacket but all I need is the
bit and two minutes with a spanner!

Alternatively, if anyone has an old Mares bcd, I'd be willing to buy the
inflator unit from you....

Thanks,
Peter

AFAIK the Mares and Cressi are compatable so
you can get away with either.

Cheers Dave.

So, does anyone have or know where I can get a replacement connector for my
BCD?
To elaborate a bit- it's the metal section that you plug the inflator hose
onto- it screws out of the rest of the inflator unit. The problem is that
the little bar across the opening has broken off- this is there to open the
valve on the inflator hose so without it I'm going to have to do it
manually.

Even more things to make diving at Capernwray this weekend more fun!

Pete

Um, yeah. Thank a lot- that was easier than I had expected.
I had searched on quite a few sites for it but I guess it never occured to
me to search for "nipple". At least I know what it's called now!

Thank you, that's solved that problem. Now I can get back to servicing the
other half dozen BCDs sitting in the club store- it seems that as soon as I
fix one, another breaks... what do they do with them that's so destructive?

Cheers,
Pete
