Default Pony

Hello (again)

I remember a thread previously, but not the outcome, discussing
transportation of Pony Cylinders by hand luggage. What was the outcome
of the thread?

Cheers

Check with the airline before you fly? Seems like common sense to me.

Seriously, though, most airlines are happy for you to take pony bottles on
board providing that you can prove that they don't have any 'oxygen' in them
(as the check in staff always say). Some may insist that the valve in
physically unscrewed from the cylinder whilst others will be happy for the
valve to simply be open. As I said, check with the airline...

Cyprus Air state that all cylinders must be empty with the valve open -
and they give you 40kg of baggage allowance - 20kg personal and 20kg
dive kit!!!
