Doesn't use one of the sealed first stages, which I always thought seemed odd, but which made me never even consider them for the UK. David |

Well if you can point out a supplier of the Calypso O2 with a DIN connection then I'm sure there are more than a few people that would be very grateful, mate! |

Cop out!!!!! > Well, Mate, the supplier is not unfamiliar to you, Mate. It's just that I don't want, unlike others, to advertise for them. So no cop out at all, really, Mate. Oh, and I think that "Mate" is the most patronising, insincere word I ever came across, Mate. As in a supplier of O2 Calypso DIN regs that used to say " Alright Mate, How are you Mate? Everything ok Mate, Hmmmm, Well, Yes, Hmm.......?" He didn't mean it, he was a twat. Not a mate at all. Mate. Pete S. |

| Buy a well looked after second-hand Apeks TX40 and have it serviced (all Apeks regs should be properly cleaned with a Citric acid or inorganic degreaser in a ultrasonic bath and then re-lubricated with an O2 compatible lubricant like Crystalube as standard). There is also no difference between the O2 and non-O2 service kits, as Apeks and most other brands stopped using Viton seals a few years ago. I'd pay about £100 for a s/h TX40 (without console or additional second stage 'octopus'), or about £50 more with all the extra bits. Having a spare second stage is always worthwhile and you will need a SPG anyway (the little Suunto plastic one is ideal for a stage reg). TonyH.
