Bookings for a UK trip

Guys, I am a diver from Australia looking at doing a diving trip to the
UK next (northern) summer. The trip would consist of a mixed gas
course, two to four weeks of diving and about the same amount of
non-diving travel.

I've got a few questions about this, but the main one is how far in
advance I should be looking at booking spaces on boats over there. Any
advice would be appreciated,
