Clive Pearson and the Jessica Hetty, out of Clovelly.............
Which bit of Clovelly didn't you like??
Muleing the gear over down the steps and over the dry harbour was fun.
I was disappointed by the dinghy ride out to the boat as the freeboard
of 1 inch (reported on this NG if I'm not mistaken) was at least 7 or 8.
Getting the car down on Sunday was a bit of a scrum, I admit. Explains
why Clive turns up on a Matchless.
All in all though, hasn't put me off going again though - but I like RIB
& shore diving too )
Cheers
Graham

They're really good, thanks.

I've done some more digging around on the seals thing and I reckon the float
around in the rough area where they hang out is acceptable. I will see what
piccies I can get over the summer.

Cheers

Hmm, well apart from the village, the people, the harbour and the hill, it
was just fine.

I will never forget standing at the bar at the bottom and watching two
groups of people enter the bar and get served before me as I stood there
waiting.

All of it. Any of it. And especially the hill.

Fun? You must be F*****g joking. And surely harbours are supposed to
be wet? That would be a major design flaw if you ask me.

IIRC, the swell was only just < the freeboard......

You can't put that there..... You'll have to move it...... You can go
in the Landrover....... Still, that's probably because our knuckles
don't scrape on the ground, and I'm not my half sisters son.

RIB diving? Oh dear....... Have you got a caravan?

Didn't have any negative reactions like that although we brought our
cars down one or 2 at a time to reduce congestion.

Cas,

try speaking to someone at the Gatty marine lab (SMRU) in St Andrews.
Don't know if Callan Duck is still there but he's a seal
physiologist/population scientist & might be able to help, or put you
in touch with a seal behaviour person

cheers
