Default UKRS Littlehampton

Trip report on my website. It was most exciting what with helicopters and
boat fires. We also managed to do some diving.

Default Rescue On the 25th July 2004 [Re: UKRS Littlehampton]

We got this on the "webmaster" email to the ukrs website...

===

To Whom It May Concern:

Yesterday a buddy of mine (Andy) And Myself (Stuart) went for a drift
dive off the coast of Littlehampton. We managed to lose our SMB and when
we surfaced a while longer we had lost the SMB and our boat. We drifted
for around 40 minutes in the water. Your dive team managed to pull us out
the water after being in the water for 90 minutes.

I am sending our thanks to all of you involved as we did not get the
chance to when everyone disembarked. Please could you pass on our thanks
to everyone involved in yesterdays Excitement?

Apart from that we had some really great dives. The first was a dive off
Iron Ore which was about 17meters down and the second being our drift
dive. Both were equally good and there was a lot to see down there.

Once again, many thanks to all those involved in our rescue. I cannot say
how much we appreciate all your help. It was REALLY good to see someone
there after 40 minutes of floating around.

Regards,

Stuart and Andy

I've emailed them back on behalf of the group, if any of the divers involved
want an email address then just mail me. Here's what I've replied -
------------------------------------
Hi Stuart & Andy

Many thanks for that, we'd heard all about you on the UKRS Newsgroup! Gordon
has passed on your message to the public group, all of the divers involved
will read it on there. I wasn't on the boat myself but your message will
reach them.

Glad we could be of service and offer you some assistance, we know that you
would do exactly the same for one of our friends. By all means come and say
"hello" on our public group, it's available on most UseNet news servers or
via Google on
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...p=uk.rec.scuba. We're
a friendly bunch and would love to hear from you.

Kind Regards

Keith Lawrence

Thanks to all who helped pull andy and I out the water. What an
experience. Something that will NOT happen again. Thanks to RNLI and
everyone else involved. We cannot say how much we both appreciate your
efforts.

Glad we could help guys. You get a mention in the trip report that I
will put up tonight, along with an "everything ends happily" picture
that Pete took of you.

OK my own trip report is now up on my web site. It is at
http://www.clearviz.co.uk/20040724Li...mptonUKRS.html

Alternatively just go to www.clearviz.co.uk and follow Diving 2004.

How about a caption for the burning boat pics, "Note to boat skippers,
this is what UKRS do to your boat if yout shot line doesn't find the
wreck."

Pics courtesy of Pete S, if anyone wants nice big pics.

Steve
