| Planning a trip to Cuba to include 3 nights in Havana and then.............where to dive? Only reports I can find on the web are a few years out of date - has anyone had any recent experience they can share? I understand from the tour operators that the good sites are south shore but thats about a 5 hour drive away and there seems to be several to chose from - & the trouble is once you're there there's no easy escape and they can be quite remote. Has anyone ever stayed & dived off Havana - I understand there's a huge number of sites in that area but not sure about the quality? All info gratefully received thanks Jules |

| We had brilliant diving at Faro Luna - nice small hotel and good dive centre - brilliant cavern and gully dive (the labyrinth) and loads of small wrecks - we were there a few years back but I know a few folk who were there not too long ago http://tinyurl.com/54ezv for photos or search on faro luna - it is on east coast and handy fro Cienfuegos and trinidad Santiago de Cuba in the south is good and has a nice big wreck let me know if you want any more info Gordon -- Gordon Mackie ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted via DeeperBlue.net - Your Online Resource for the UnderWater World. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gordon Mackie's Profile: http://forums.deeperblue.net/member....fo&userid=2138 View this thread on DeeperBlue.net: http://forums.deeperblue.net/showthr...threadid=52401 |

Havana itself is fantastic. Try the Cafe de Paris on a Saturday night. http://tinyurl.com/63nx8 Have fun! DaveA -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

You CAN get a train (supposedly) right down, but it isn't hugely recommended. Flights are best.. or, if you have time you can drive or be driven down (sometimes as cheap to have a car and driver) Drive to Faro from Havana doesn't take long, couple of hours or so I can dig out more info if you need it regards - Gordon -- Gordon Mackie ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted via DeeperBlue.net - Your Online Resource for the UnderWater World. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gordon Mackie's Profile: http://forums.deeperblue.net/member....fo&userid=2138 View this thread on DeeperBlue.net: http://forums.deeperblue.net/showthr...threadid=52401 |
