Excellent resource. Just one addition, though,

http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying...ggageAllowance

I'm going to ring them up today to ask some questions. Question 1 will be,
"are you serious?"

Thanks Neil - I haven't got as far as Quantas yet!

The next thing is to go back through them all and actually pick out any that
do have diver's baggage allowances...

....it'll take a while...

Copy of Email from Excel Airways (commonly used for charter flights to
the Red Sea) below. Cabin baggage allowance 5kg.

Excel sometimes use Air Atlanta planes, and the following baggage
rules also apply to Air Atlanta flights when booked through Excel.

David

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please be advised passengers taking diving equipment on all flights
are
allowed 10 kilos excess baggage free of charge in addition to their
normal 20 kilos luggage allowance. Please be advised that all excess
baggage is subject to space and availability on the day of departure.

There is no requirement for prior notification to the preflight
department, this is actioned at time of check-in on the departure day.

If you do have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact
us.

Default A little gem (Was: Remember Alun's Baggage allowance thread...)

I've just been going through the list of Airlines on the IATA site and
getting links to their baggage allowances and cam across this little beauty
from Royal Air Maroc for you to rip to bits...

<quote>
Diving gear

Compressed air bottles are accepted.
Cylinders containing pure oxygen or mixture are strictly prohibited.

Hmmmm....

Just a quick point CAS, its good what you've done but have you got
permission to link to all these websites? what you have done is called 'deep
linking' where you've linked to a page but bypassed the company's homepage.

If there are adverts on that homepage these have been bypassed, and this is
where the problem lies. If I was paying for the adverts I wouldn't want
loads of hits to the site without anyone actually seeing the adverts.

I'm not knocking what you've done but just be aware that some of these
companies may come after you.

Regards
Paul

Yup, I'm saving you the bother of digging around to find the information.
As to permission - I haven't copied anything from anyone's site, just told
you where it is. No infringments of any kind.

That's just tough in the land of the internet - if that bothers the airlines
that much they should write those pages in such a way that takes the user
back to the main page with the initial link activated...

....just like http://divesite.calumscott.me.uk/airlines that one!

I very much doubt whether they'd bother - what good would it do them apart
from some bad publicity when I told all you lot (and Diver Mag etc...)?

Woah - I just ended up on your homepage from there.... that was 5 minutes
ago and my eyes are still struggling to focus on anything!

Nice info about the airlines though.

David
