ok you made some fair pionts about newsgroups and chatrooms
but to be fair I wasn't trying to get anyone on any websites or spam ,
I was just trying to offer divers a chance for some realtime chat

Yes but isn't that a bit like walking into someone's party and asking
everyone to come to your party instead? This place may not be 'realtime' but
to most, usenet works better as the chances of all the contributors being
online at the same time is fairly slim...

I installed a chat room on my site, then deleted it after 2 weeks
because it was a complete waste of time. Just stick to a forum for
friends and family and those who happen to drop by, even then I get most
of my information here.
