( not sure). I've done this. The best way to do it is to make up a new stub on a lathe to screw into the head. You need a piece of 3 or 4 mm glass to replace the stock plastic lens (most glaziers will cut you these for a quid or so) and away you go. An MR16 bulb fits straight in. Mine's been tested to 100m. Certainly a lot easier than building the whole thing from scratch. Great DIY >light head > >David > I think you'll find after lots of swearing that Maglite heads are, in fact, crap for DIY umbilicals. The switch is not sealed and the glass at the front is not sealed well enough either. Far better to buy a cheap underwater torch and use that as the basis for the head. Granted, it won't be black and ally but it will seal far better. There is a whole section on this on the ukrs website. |
