When I've done it I've been fine in a one piece 3mm. It can be worth
taking a hood as this takes no room in the luggage but keeps you
massively warmer and therefore adds an easy boost to your insulation

A week ago the watertemp at Ras Mohammed was 28° C. At the end of the week
I was diving with a 3mm suit with a surf shirt under it.

The water temp in Sharm in January will be 23/24 degrees. the air temp
during the day due to the wind will be 20.
November will have 25-27 degrees
In Hurghada where it is very windy in Feb-Apr the water temp drops to 22.
at 1200metres at the bottom of the red sea it drops to a freezing 20 degrees
C ... a 3mm long with 2mm shortie over the top should be enough even at 1200
