[FX: Sob!] Indeed, the end of an era But a =HUGE= vote of thanks to Nigel for doing it in the first place. I think that you can be proud and will go down in UKRS (and elsewhere) history as being the man who broke the £100+ cartel and brought high quality, affordable backplates to the masses. How many have you produced over the years Nigel? How many countries have you shipped them to? The Combro/UKRS plate goes back many years, when Nigel started doing them a standard, simple backplate was well over £100 in your local LDS. My plate actually pre-dates a Combro, mine came from a batch that Gregg Roach had made some years earlier. But it was Nigel who did it properly, established the market to a wider audience and has kept on producing them. So THANK YOU Nigel, and I feel that it will be many, many years before you can visit a major dive site and NOT come across a Combro plate somewhere! Keith L |

Yep - seconded! My first backplate was a Combro and I still have fond memories of deburring it with a Dremmel power tool... Thanks again, Nigel! |

| A sad day indeed. But before they go - have you got any of the last batch left? If you have, stick my name on one and I'll pick it up at Icebreakers. Cheers CAS |
