You could try changing com ports. However, not all USB-Serial adaptors are the same, and some just never work (the two i've tried I had absolutely no luck with). I've never found one to work with it yet (mine's home-made which will be a slightly different circuit but it does work on low-powered ports on laptops so no reason not to work through USB), but I know some do. Best bet is to find someone for who it does work, and get the exact same brand / model of USB adaptor. David |

Check for any other listeners on COM1 - things like digital camera software, mobile phone or PDA syncs, that kind of thing. You will find them in the system tray on the start bar at the right hand side. Disable them and try again. Also set the COM Delay in SDM to its maximum (50) - usually helps. Have fun.
