| Vobster Quay recently played host to TV's Chris Barrie, star of the BBC's Red Dwarf, Brittas Empire and - of course - the popular Tomb Raider movies. Chris was onsite for the filming of Massive Machines, a documentary series currently being aired on the Discovery Channel. For his visit to Vobster, Chris got the chance to explore Vobster in a submarine! Each episode explores a particular type of 'massive machine' - previous episodes have covered Cranes, Trains, Tanks and Bombers. For the final episode on submarines, a large crane was brought in to lower a two-man submarine into the waters of Vobster Quay. After all the usual safety checks, Chris took a tour around the aircraft cockpit and other Vobster diving attractions. The episode Massive Machines:Submarines is being aired on the Discovery Channel on December 7th 2004 at 8:30pm. http://www.vobsterquay.co.uk |

| Nice bloke isn't he. We've just made an episode of that programme around Portland with a WW2 DUKW. This post is sort of diving related. Chris wore a couple drysuits during filming and shopped at our dive shop 'PORTLAND OCEANEERING' That's www.portlandoceaneering.co.uk Nothing like a free bit of advertising as long as it's relevant to the original post eh! Am I breaking any rules with this post?????????? |

The tenuous scuba link (he called in your shop - PORTLAND OCEANEERING with a web site www.portlandoceaneering.co.uk) saved you from that obvious trap. Well done in not spamming us. I noticed the pic of Chris on the O'three gallery page the other day... http://www.othree.co.uk/gallery.html |
