If it is only the octopus then it is likely that the seat in the 2nd stage is damaged/nicked and is not seating properly. If both the Primary and Octo do this then it's probably the HP seat in the 1st stage. I don't want to be accused of talking crap, so I'd just like to say that I spent a year servicing these at a school that only used Mares regs for teaching, so I have a pretty good understanding of them. (I have a set of my own as well). Dan. |

| Sorry if all of you have seen this befor, but my work computer seems to be playing up. I have a problem with my mares octopus which was going into freeflow on the surface and in shallow water, it only stopped as I got deeper. There is a nut on the inside which adjusts the flow, but does it go clockwise or anticlockwise? It was a real pain in the arse as I am a heavy breather (well underwater anyway!!) and it used up air very quickly. I had to borrow a different octopus for most of the week but need to use my own for pool dives now. I probably won't be going deep enough in the pool for the pressure to kick in and stop the freeflow. any advice gratefully recieved. cheers Neil |
